This page explains what happens to your information when you visit The Pwavwe Papers. The short version: I collect as little as possible, I don't sell anything about you, and the only data you actively hand over is an email address — and only if you choose to subscribe.
Who runs this site
The Pwavwe Papers is a personal publication written by Francis Pwavwe. For anything on this page, or to have your data removed, reach me via the contact page.
Hosting
The site runs on Blogger, a service provided by Google. Like most web hosts, Google's servers automatically record standard technical information when a page is requested — such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you view — for security and to keep the service running. That data is handled under Google's Privacy Policy.
The newsletter
If you use a subscribe box, your email address is stored in a private database (Google's Firebase / Cloud Firestore) so I can send you a note when there's a new essay. That's the only reason it's kept. I don't share or sell it, and you can ask me to delete it at any time via the contact page. Every email I send will also include a way to unsubscribe.
Your theme preference
If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your own browser (using localStorage) so the site remembers it next time. It never leaves your device and isn't sent to me or anyone else. Clearing your browser storage removes it.
Comments
Comments are handled by Blogger's built-in system, which is tied to your Google account. Anything you post is public, and its handling falls under Google's Privacy Policy. Don't share anything in a comment you wouldn't want to be public.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own. Blogger and other Google services may set cookies needed to run the platform (for example, to let you sign in to comment). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some conveniences may not.
Links to other sites
Essays sometimes link out to other websites. Once you follow a link, you're on someone else's property and their privacy practices apply — I can't control or take responsibility for them.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email, or by asking me.
- Ask me what data I hold about you, or to delete it.
- Control cookies and site storage through your browser settings.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
